Graduated from renowned Kalakshetra, College of Fine Arts, Chennai, India in 1997 with a focus on Bharatnatyam. While training at Kalakshetra took part in many dance dramas and dance productions and traveled with the troupe. Worked with various international schools in India teaching Bharatnatyam and folk dances from around India and the world. Also worked at the Krishnamurti foundation schools. I moved to the USA in 2008 after I got married and devoted my time to settling down and start a family. I have two beautiful children Ava who is 3 and Aarav who is 10 months old. I have also worked with the Fairfax County’s SACC program for a few years and there again I educated kids on Indian culture and various dance forms. It has been a great experience and adventure. I am very excited to be a part of Pragathi and be able to teach dance to the students as I do believe that any art form is a discipline that helps one in all aspects of their lives. Looking forward to meeting you all.
